Ingredients

  • 1 pint buttermilk,
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger crushed,
  • 2 green chillies well chopped,
  • 1 medium onion finely sliced,
  • Curry patha (leaf)
  • a little salt to taste.
  • pinch of jeera (cumin powder) and dhania coriander powder

Method

In a large jug blend all the ingredients together. Chill for a while then serve with a garnish of curry patha, pinch of jeera and dhania.

Notes:

This is one of the most refreshing drinks you can imagine. From Kerela in South India it is regularly served at Good Earth Pottery, Alibag. Bombay.

Worth a trip across the water from The Gateway of India to Mandwa just to sample it.
