This is my second attempt at this recipe as I burned the living who-ha out of the first batch :-S I won't, however, be making it again as the reduction time involved is MASSIVE and I just don't have the time to stand over this easily burnt concoction….A disappointment as the flavours seem like they would go together beautifully.

I just made this chutney for christmas presents and it doesn't taste that great, the flavours don't seem to compliment each other, too much of a kick. I followed the recipie exactly and I asked a few others to try it and they said it was ok. I have to give it as presents now and I wonder if it is just a preference thing or will it get better with age? Help!

Great recipe, I added whole chilli's and used oranges just picked from the local orange grove. It certainally packs a punch!

I made this recipe it was lovely, I just used enough water to cover the onions like you said, very tasty will make this one again x

I'd think just enough to cover the onions as you're going to get a lot of juice from the apples and orange. I will ask though.

Sounds like a great recipe and I would love to try it. However, it does not mention the quantity of water. Does anyone know?
