Choosing Seeds & Plants
Vegetable Seeds & Plants Most gardeners love a bargain but sometimes a bargain isn't as good as it appears to be. When you consider the amount of time and effort we spend in growing anything from an Aubergine to a Tomato, buying the right seed is not a luxury. Quality suppliers ensure you get good germination and the right variety gives you the best taste and overall result. When it comes to long term projects like fruit bushes and nut trees where the plant may take years to actually begin production, it's well worth spending a few extra pounds to ensure success as well as a bit of effort in preparation before planting. That's why I've chosen seed suppliers that I know offer a wide range of good quality seeds and good service to partner with. I've got together with top quality suppliers, Thompson & Morgan, Suttons and Dobies to offer a selection of vegetable seeds, fruit bushes, fruit trees and nut trees. Because I know how confusing it can get choosing varieties from different catalogues I've sorted things out for you. Dobies have been supplying flower and vegetable seeds direct to gardeners since 1880, starting in the Chester area, and for over fifty years now, to customers throughout the UK so not exactly new to the game. Alan Titchmarsh Seeds are actually a part of Sutton's Seeds. Obviously, Mr Titchmarsh would not lend his name to anything inferior and Suttons have been supplying seeds since 1806 so they have a bit of a track record as well. We have Vegetable Seeds split into types so you can compare between the suppliers for carrots, for example. I've also done the same for varieties that have won the coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit. These are varieties that are especially suitable for the gardener rather than varieties that may be better for the farmer. The Fruit & Nut section has the fruit trees and bushes, nut trees in as you might guess!
