A superb old pear variety Usually just called Williams pear, this is a beautiful old variety - large, sweet smooth and very juicy. It turns yellow when ripe, and while a superb eating pear, it's also great for stewing. It is a reliable heavy-cropping and hardy tree and more spreading than most pears. Pear Conference

The country's favourite pear! Heavy crops of firm sweet and juicy pears with creamy-white flesh. Raised in 1885 in Hertfordshire and exhibited in that year at the British Pear Conference (hence the name) it is reliable even in poor conditions (and shows more resistance to frost than some other varieties) so is ideal for most UK gardens. Self fertile. Supplied in a 9 litre pot bag.
