What is pH?
The pH of your soil is a measurement to show whether it"s: ACID (ericaceous) Acid soil will have a pH of between 1 to 7 - an example of an 'acid’ soil would be a peaty soil NEUTRAL Neutral is a pH of 7, but for horticultural purposes a soil with a pH of 6.5 to 7 can be described as ‘neutral’ – an example of this type of soil is a clay soil ALKALINE (limey) A soil with a pH between 7 to 17 is an alkaline soil – an example would be a chalky soil |
