Increase ventilation and air circulation in your greenhouse with this five bladed Louvre Kit designed to be fit in either an aluminium or wooden greenhouse.
The kit consists of: Right Hand Fitment - with opening handle, Left Hand Fitment, Fixing Bolts - four bolts are included for fitting the kit to an aluminium greenhouse - these will need to be substituted for wood screws (not supplied) if the kit is to be fitted in a wooden greenhouse.
Please Note: NO glass is included with the kit.
To avoid excessive temperatures it is important to have an adequate number of vents in the greenhouse - the vent area should be at least 1/5th that of the floor area. For existing greenhouses it is often difficult to fit new roof opening windows - adding a Louvre Kit is an easy alternative and will also help to increase air movement in the greenhouse which is important all year round to offset the risk of plant disease and damage.
Installation Instructions :
Choose where you wish to site the louvre - for maximum benefit fit your louvre just above ground level. If possible fit in the back wall of the greenhouse opposite the door - in this way when temperatures are high you will be able to create good air circulation by leaving both the greenhouse door and louvre window open, providing an efficient circulation of air down the length of the greenhouse.
To fit the louvre, simply remove the pane of glass where the louvre is to be fitted and bolt the operating parts to the greenhouse glazing bars.
To complete the louvre window slide five glass louvre blades into position - in operation each louvre blade should overlap the one below on the outside. These blades are NOT supplied in the kit - full instructions are included with the kit to show the size of glass you will require.
The completed depth of your louvre will be 17?" (44cm) top to bottom, whilst the width of the louvre will be the width between the glazing bars on your greenhouse. |
