If you wish to operate the Tropf Blumat Watering System from a 'tank' of water rather than mains water, you will need a Tank Connector to allow you to attach the 1/4" tubing direct to the water supply.
The robust Tank Connector is simply to install. Unscrew the Tank Connector so that you have three separate parts ready to fit:
A - A 2" (5cm) long screwed fitting which should be fitted through the side or base of the tank after drilling an 11mm hole (you will need access to the inside of the tank in order to fit this).
B - Rubber washer to fit onto the outside of the tank.
C - screw fitting to attach back to the Tank Connector of the outside of the tank, screw tight up to the washer for a secure connection.
You are then ready to fit the 1/4" tubing to the barbed fitting at the end of the Tank Connector.Your supply of water can be stored in any type of container - for example a water butt, overhead tank etc. - however the system will only operate with a minimum head of water of 3ft (92cm) (i.e. the water supply needs to be a minimum 3ft (92cm) higher than the point of watering). |
