The Tropf Blumat Watering System operates on a maximum water pressure of 1 bar (down to a minimum of 0.5 bar). In order to achieve this when running the system from a mains water tap you need to use a Pressure Reducer.
Fitting to a Tap:
The top of the Pressure Reducer simply screws onto a 3/4" screw threaded tap. If your tap is a different size - 1/2" or 5/8" - you will need to purchase a set of adapters (available separately) to fit into the top of the Pressure Reducer prior to fitting to the tap.
Fitting the 1/4" Tube:
At the base of the Pressure Reducer just unscrew the retaining cap and thread onto the 1/4" tube. Push the 1/4" tube onto the barbed fitting and screw the retaining cap back onto the Pressure Reducer to hold the tube securely in place.
Water Filter - within the Pressure Reducer is a water filter to prevent any small particles getting into the watering system and blocking the tube or nozzles. The filter is easily accessible for simple cleaning.
The low water pressure used with the Tropf Blumat system allows slow, dosed dripping and helps to ensure your plants receive warmed water only. |
