Capillary matting allows the process of capillary watering to occur, which provides plants with water through the base of their containers, via the natural capillary action of the compost. The matting can be used with staging trays to deliver water evenly over the whole area.

Capillary matting allows the process of capillary watering to occur,
which provides plants with water through the base of their containers,
via the natural capillary action of the compost. The matting can be
used with trays to deliver water evenly over the whole area. When used
with a Water Tub reservoir or Big Drippa watering system plants
can be kept watered for long periods. Matting can be used either way
up; the dark grey side hides soil spills and attracts the sun's warmth
in the cooler months; the white side will reflect more light,
particularly beneficial for light sensitive plants in the height of
summer.
