Month by Month on The Plot

Allotment Information
What to do now in the garden?
There are two questions that are regularly asked on the forums by new
gardeners:
'How do I clear my plot?' and 'What
should I be doing now?'
I've written an article on Clearing
a New Allotment, which I hope helps
address the first question and this series will seek
to address the second question of what to do now.
You should always remember that there is no such thing as an absolute
set date for a job in gardening, for a start temperatures vary according
to where you are in the country. Winter comes earlier to Scotland than
Devon.
Next, each year is different; some warmer and some colder although
the trend is toward warmer the exception proves the
rule.
So, adjust for where you are and the weather conditions.
I'm based in Cheshire, which is about in the middle of the UK so I have
based these guides on what I think you should be doing
here in your garden.
I'm afraid that, if you read my diaries, you will see that what I think
should be done tends to vary from what actually gets done. There's never
enough time to do everything in the garden!
Over the year, I have built this into 12 articles,
one for each month. Please feel free to contact
me if
you think I've missed anything or got something wrong.
Nobody is perfect, especially me.
