John, Merry Christmas to you and your wife. Your diary entries give me endless pleasure and I love hearing about all your cats. My two are rescued ones and had sad lives as well. You are wonderful giving a home to so many, as the vets bills can be horrendous and it is a big commitment. I bought a copy of your book in October and wrapped it up ready to give to myself for xmas and am looking forward to reading it.

Saw the pic of the pile of tree shreddings at the allotment-over the last year a couple of us have moved and spread at least 12 large loads of shreddings around the paths in our school wildlife area-we have 1 great wheelbarrow and another rather useless one (a deep plastic one with 2 wheels which is difficult to manage on a slope )Last week we had 4 and a half loads delivered which Nigel (another over 60 year old)and I spread along our paths plus in 2 play areas around the school-alas I later spotted one of the many local cats using the shreddings under the play equipment as a toilet!!!

Lol! Oh John, that photo made me laugh! I'm the same, I love lametta on my xmas tree but can only dangle it from the top to about half way down, because I read smewhere if a cat swallows it, it doesn't break and can get wrapped around their intestines! So, to avoid a huge vet bill half way it is! It's the same in my house with Lilies because they are so horribly poisonous to cats, I'm afraid I don't have them in my garden incase an unsuspecting neighbours cat, or a stray wanders through. They are hard work, but I wouldn't swap them for the world.
Up the plot for me this afternoon, like you I am a long way behind, today will hopefully be spent removing shading and replacing with bubblewrap in my greenhouse.
Regards
Roz.
