We bought ours just before VAT on electrical goods went up to 25%, about 1971 I think, and it's still going strong

Mine is brand new (a wedding present) and has been used just once so far to make cakes... I'm looking forward to using it for the next 60 odd years and experiencing its many wonders

I'm still working on that endurance level - mine has only done 10 years so far.

My mother's, however, is currently on 42 years and counting!

Your friends Kenwood is relatively new! My Kenwood was purchased in 1953 given steady work, serviced in the mid 60's and has worked steadily since then. She does puff and pant a little and smokes slightly, when the mixing of a heavy Christmas cake is required, but she squares her shoulders to the task and pushes on.

I think I need to get her serviced as her Christmas present this year.. then she will be ready for another fifty odd years!
