The bad frost has hit my early potatoe crop hard along with my runner beans, apart from 3 the beans were all dead, new green follage is coming through on the potatoes though so fingers crossed. Have planted 4 more rows just in case.

With a bit of luck you'll get regrowth - all depends how badly they were frosted. It's not too late (May) to re-plant early potatoes.

I do wish people would read my book before rushing out and planting too early.

Just like you I've been wrapping everything in fleece down the plot, a frost is definately on the cards tonight. All at home is back in the greenhouse to be on the safe side.

Last year I sowed a packet of 15 squash seeds assuming that soem wouldn't germinate and they all did. So of course this year I was conservative and only sowed two each of of four types. Two germinated. i've had to resow three times to get the number I wanted. (Love squash esp, simply roasted with a little olive oil. Skin's the best bit)
