just stumbled on your column very interesring allotment gardener for 35 years had polytunnel blown to bits in gales this week fortunatlyalready had replacement cover. Have two ten rod plots and one five rod keeps me busy. keep up the good work.

Just been reading your various updates and have to congratulate your on your style.fun and relaxed. Just how I feel after a days digging (not).
Only been at this since last November and have taken on two plots here in Blacon Chester. one plot was just amazing having been worked by it’s previous owner for some 30yrs.The second a nightmare but hard work and help from others it’s all systems go.Once this bug gets you it won’t let go.Carry on the fun work I’m sure there will be alot more to come for 2008.

Allotment people do tend to be helpful don’t they. I’d have never got my big greenhouse up but for people coming over to lend a hand and basically taking over.

Hi just a little note to say how much I have enjoyed browsing through your pages. I got my allotment last May and I’m still having a brilliant time. I have met so many lovely people on our site. Allotment folk seem to go out of their way to be helpful with advice and goodies of all descriptions! So keep up the diary as Ive book marked it and I am keen to follow the progress of other kindred spirits!.

Reading your column, I’m a bit peaved!!

You can get down to your patch during the week to ‘do a bit of digging’ or other things. Me at the moment until e change the clocks, I can only find a couple of hours spare on Sunday mornings – then I’ve got to hope the weather stays fine !!!!

Any how – joking apart, love the web site and the writings — I JUST WISH I HAD THE ******* TIME!!
