Hardly a heatwave this year but things are coming together

Plot 29 The Beans
A month after they were transplanted, the runner
beans are starting up the poles and the
French beans are popping up.
Germination on the French beans was poor - I put
this down to the weather.
Plot 29 New Path and Potatoes
I've laid a chipping path to the side and this
forms a divide between my plot and the
adjoining. In view of the mares tail,
not a bad idea to have a buffer zone.
The 2nd Early and Maincrop potatoes are doing well
in the background
Plot 5 in good heart.
You can see the brassicas are doing well and the
broad beans are up high. Between them
you can see parsnips popping up.
In the foreground are the courgettes and, yes,
it needs weeding.
The Garden - Tomatoes
Hidden on the right are some tomatoes under the
hanging basket in a polythene mini greenhouse.
The rest of the garden is given over to flowers..
these aren't so bad as they can be composted!
The Garden - More Tomatoes
Toms on the right, strawberry pot in front of the
cold frame.
At the front is our black compost bin. We actually
make more compost than we can use in
the garden but that's not a problem with
2 hungry plots to feed.
The Greenhouse
I decided to build my own greenhouse. So purchased
twinwall polycarb and wood. Took me ages
and cost about £160.00. Half way through
building it a lean-to greenhouse was
advertised 2nd hand in the paper for
£30.00.
I think mine is better. If I could set the clock
back....
The Garden
Well, you need to feed the soul and being surrounded
by flowers doesn't do any harm. The flowers
are all my wife's work
